Schedules

French intermediate[2] on Saturday: ask for Availability French intermediate[1] twice a week starts: Tuesday February 28, 2012 French Beginner class starts on: Monday 05, March, 2012 French full time (every day) starts on: 02 April Private lessons(1 to 1) at half price and flexible schedule! Private lessons are $28 per hour! (Regular fees were $56 per hour)
French for children is available call for more information.
There are no registration fees for part time studies and private lessons.
At CCE we do not charge the HST TAX for French classes.

Course Description
BEGINNER I
This course is designed for "true" beginners and introduces the basics of French grammar. Students will learn how to introduce themselves and greet others; how to give and understand simple directions; and how to ask and answer specific questions.

BEGINNER II
This course is a continuation of BEGINNER I. Students enrolling in this course should have a basic knowledge of French (i.e. the alphabet, numbers, conjugation of verbs in the present tense, and the learning outcomes covered in BEGINNER I). Upon completion of BEGINNER II, students should be able to speak about work, family, their interests, the weather, and to participate in brief conversations.

INTERMEDIATE I
Students enrolling in this course should be able to communicate in French and must have a general understanding of French grammar (i.e. present, past and future tenses). At the end of this course, students will be able to participate in conversations with greater ease. Students at this level will also work at developing their writing skills.

INTERMEDIATE II
Upon completion of this course, students will have achieved a level at which they feel comfortable and confident enough to participate in conversations and discussions on general topics. Students will also have developed the skills to begin communicating with ease in writing.

FRENCH ADVANCED I
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social and professional topics. Students will also be able to obtain and analyze information and opinions and will learn how to co-chair meetings and debates. Students will have mastered enough of the language to enable them to perform advanced tasks, such as defend an opinion, deal with hypothetical issues, and discuss complex work-related issues.

FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
This course is designed for students at an Advanced level who wish to explore Francophone cultures. The classes will focus on group discussions about history, literature, film and music in Canada and
around the world.

FRENCH ADVANCED II
This course is designed for students who have studied French Advanced I or the equivalent. The aim of this course is to improve students' performance and confidence in their use of French and to master language skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) to comparable levels. The course is practical and contains a core language component to improve communication in social situations, and it also covers specialized language and topics for specific professional purposes. Students will be able to choose from a range of topics, including media, advertising, communications, ecology, manufacturing, etc., and students can customize their studies according to their interests.
