The Métro

Built for the Expo 67 Montreal World's Fair that commemorated Canada's Centennial in 1967, Montreal's public subway/underground system works. It's safe, clean , affordable, and dependable. It's the primary means of transportation for many of us urban dwellers. The nearest Metro station is PEEL. A Montreal City Map of the Metro System is free of charge at most Metro Stations. Simple to use, the Metro runs from 06:00 hrs to 01:00 hrs 7 days a week. Weekend service is not quite as frequent.

Buses

The Telbus Automated Information Service works well. Each bus stop is assigned a telephone number, which let you access a computer voice message giving the time the next bus is due to arrive at the stop. Bus service generally is good and reliable. A Montreal City Map of the Bus Grid and Métro system is free of charge at most Metro Stations.

Sainte-Catherine is the most famous street in Montreal.
